The pathetic performances of this year world cup and of past Euro's too... England does not seem to do very well most of the times. Why is that ? ( no complex analysis, please. Big problems normally only require very simple solutions ). I realy would like the views of everyone, football knowledgeable or not. Thanks.
What do you think TRULY is the REAL problem with English football ?nba live 2007
England simply aren't as good as they are made out to be. The media must be on some heavy duty drugs the way they talk them up. 1966 needs to be put to bed and forgotten. It had more to do with a dodgy russian linesman that England won the world cup then than anything. "There are people on the pitch, they think its all over!" You'll remember that saying, god it's repeated on telly enough. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand that play should have been stopped before Hursts 3rd. The english premier is only regarded as being so good because of the foreign influence. I keep saying to my English friends when a competition comes along that maybe they will go all the way. But they don't seem to think so. If only they worked for the BBC!
What do you think TRULY is the REAL problem with English football ?nba betting ,nba teams
Lots of combining problems resulting in us being s**t!!
Firstly: team being chosen on REPUTATION + WHO u r and NOT the best player!
Secondly: Teams like ARSENAL who DO NOT have one English player in their starting line up! And noone throw Hoyt or Theo Walcott @ me! 10year olds just out of nappies DONT COUNT! They are RUINING the FUTURE of the national team!
Thirdly: We need our players 2 move abroad and experience different leagues n different styles of play! Just like the french!
Where to begin. I think we're overconfident. Most of our team are World Class but don't play well (e.g Lampard who has played like a quadrospas). The problem isn't lack of quality. They just don't seem to knit. Perhaps because they don't get to spend much time together as an England team. Korea did exceptionally well (albeit at home) when their team was effectively a club team. Most of them only played for their country for a year before the World Cup. So familiarity is very important. (But then the England team is very well established - everyone pretty much have 20+ caps)
So...
Who knows? I really do think the solution would be to drop most of them for a poor performance (sounds like a tabloid response I know). But Lampard et al are living off club form which they have never really produced for England (like McManaman, Barnes even Henry or Cantona for France are the same)
So why should they play? Make them earn their jersey, just like their club team would make them do. In the short term I think it would be disasterous, but then we're not really doing the well anyway so why not?
We have no right to beat teams like Macedonia if we don't prepare well, and work our socks off to do it.
Lastly, there "are no easy games at this level". Whilst this isn't strictly true, there are fewer teams to whoop these days compared to even 10 years ago.
I wish I could answer this question!
the team are bloody useless wat else can be said
Don't get me wrong, i have no problem with foreigners, but isn't english football supposed to mean we have english players?? How are we supposed to find young, english players when most clubs buy from abroad?
We don't score as many goals as the other side!?
Our real problem is that in a nutshell we have this prima donna attitude that because we're England we should be best team on the planet. Fact is however:-
1) Simply put we suck cos we can't do the basics consistently
2) We pick the worst people as national team managers
3) Have far too many foreign players in our game.
4) Don't teach youngsters the basics properly.....
i think the English team has many problems First of all the penalties..They not fast..Some how very slow so for any goalkeeper it is easy for him to stop the ball ..England never succeeded to win any match which reached the penalties
Secondly...And it is related to the above point..Their shots arent very strong..It was only David Beckham who was good in free-kicks and those kicks who requires strenght but now he is gone i hope he is back on the team because he was the reason England was going on ..
Thirdly...They have many stars on their team ...But they dont share with each other i mean every one is acting alone and thats why every ball is not good and thats why they lose..they are turning like brazil
Maybe you are just not as good as you think you are? stop feeding off the 66 result and wake up and smell the coffee!
the league has too many foreigners.
They just aren't great football players? And I think that they are not really hungry for victory...
wwwaayyy too much player power..seems as if players have more authority then the managerss
the trouble is we think we are much better than we actually are.we only have 2 maybe 3 world class players.most of the best players in prem are foreign.
Ego.
there's young good British talent out there, but football teams are failing to find em among the amount of foreginers in the premiership. Even through the youth academy you're seeing these young stars, but they happen to be on the bench of most club games. Not even getting a chance to get into first team.
You need to scout em, it's very well having all the money %26amp; thinking of going abroad but you need to look at what's right infront of your eyes on home soil.
A good example of a good team are Arsenal, hence most of the team are foreign, but they're young too. And cos they have good scouts out there looking for talent all the time, that's why their young players are at first team level. Now if the English can do the same thing, then i'd say you got a winning formula.
the problem is there is no such thing as an english football team anymore. we should take the foreigners out of the game and the english players could get back to playing proper football instead of this fancy crap
selfishness
England never learn to play the game. They run a lot, and the only way to score is : center the ball and hope somebody connects.
lack of ball skills due to an emphasis on work rate when kids are over coached. the lack of good quality players in the lower leagues due to the emphasis on brute strength, they need to apply the same standards as European refs to make skill not brute force the deciding factor. but we like a physical game so we have it one way or another. we either model our whole game on the Europeans or we stick with the rough stuff, we can't have it both.
Too many egos on the pitch. Players are paid too much, turning the game into a job rather than an enjoyable, passionate experience. And foreign coaches, how can the players be inspired by a foreign coach.
I have no problem with foreigners by the way, just think that an Englich team should have an English coach.
There is no problem, England team and players are not good as English media is presenting them !!!!!!!!
Too much money and not enough commitment!
the main problem is...england defend too much....instead of opening up the game and attacking they just defend and once in a while try some long shots....and this can probably only help them till the group stages....i think steve mclaren will definately do a better job than sven goran erickson...but i hate mclaren's idea of dropping david beckham from the squad
My truly honest view is that most success in life comes from the mind. The mind can affect anything. The mind can make an 8 stone lady lift a car off her crushed son. It doesn't matter how good you are at a sport if you are not in the right frame of mind you will not play well.
England players are rarely in the right frame of mind because鈥?.
They are constantly berated and criticised by the media and fans therefore there is too much pressure on them. A person cannot play good football if there is a lot of pressure on them.
In the recent world cup I saw a brazil player (forget his name) approach the opposition and fire one in the net and all the time even when they were trying to tackle him he had a huge grin on his face. This was a very important world cup match and he was extremely relaxed and just slotted the goal in with no worries. England players always look so serious and frantic when they try and score like scurrying, robotically trained rats.
In summary, England have some good players but they are too tense, too rigid and under too much pressure so they try far too hard.
People seem to think that if they put more pressure on them they will play better but the opposite is true.
A person always performs better when they are relaxed.
The answer is simple, we cant keep hold of the ball or pass well enough...
We're going to have to change tactics eventually too... Run it down the wing, cross it into the box %26amp; hope for the best.... Im afraid teams have sussed us out.....
