Why do so many football players commit crimes?

Football players are nothing more then felons on the field. Why is that? I would never do that.

It's what happens when you take uneducated thugs and pay them millions each year to play football.

Steroids?
They're all thugs that are used to having things handed to them.
they eat meat
No different than our representatives in Washington, just look at Ted Kennedy's history,or how about the egomaniacs from Hollywood that are in the news every day for doing something wrong including murder
same reason so many business men and so many shop owners do, some people are just like that, and people are stereotyping them as thugs, maybe some of them are, and thats too bad, but can you call lt a thug? champ bailey, i could go on and on, besides unless you know them there's no way you could possibly judge them accurately
Its not that so many of them commit a crime, its just that every time a player does commit a crime is is highly publicized and eaten up by the media.
because they're ex florida grads
I don't think it's football players in general. Our society has almost glamorized being a criminal with some of the things they show on the news. There are copycat criminals everywhere. But because of the magnitude of the NFL, the media is quick to jump on the story of the few players that partake in that type of lifestyle alot quicker than they do when one of these players does something good in the community.
Cause they can
cos most footballers are a bunch of egotists!!! who believe that because they can kick a ball around, then they must be above everyone else!!

they should all take anger management courses, or have their bits chopped off! too much testosterone, interfering with skill!

but i have to say, i love a good scrap on the pitch! not me personally of course! ha
Most professional athletes have been coddled and over indulged since the moment their talents were recognized by a coach or parent or whomever. They're suddenly placed on a different track that focuses more on the development of physical gifts and less on getting an education, being a moral person, etc.

Most are essentially living their lives in a state of suspended adolescence. And that, combined with privilege and million dollar contracts, makes for a volatile combination. You get people who are over developed physically, under developed intellectually and morally, and turn them loose with cash. It creates a sense of entitlement and superiority.
they don't think, that's why
You can take the brother out of the ghetto, but you can't take the ghetto out of the brother.
They have so much money, and most of them get away with their crimes. Including ex-players too. (OJ). As long as you can play the game, it seems to be all that matters in most public opinion. I'm glad Goodell is working on that.
